SHE

SHE crosses the 10000-reader mark. I take this opportunity to ponder.

Should I feel proud of the “achievement”?

Is it an achievement, at all?

Stories/posts become popular (‘go viral’, as they say nowadays) based on their topicality and appeal to people. Published just a year ago, on 25-Jul-2013, this story seems to have held its relevance during the period, averaging about 30 reads a day.

That it continues to hold its relevance and appeal, alarms me. The unabated occurrence of rape/gang rape, almost on a daily basis, is what is keeping the topic of the story alive. This aspect is deeply distressing to the husband, the father, the son, the brother, the uncle, and the grandfather in me.

Will women ever be safe in our society?

My first book

My biggest personal achievement is publishing my first-ever novel, “DANCE OF LIFE”, which is a collection of three different books, sort of 3-in-1. After going through the strenuous self-publishing, I was in the seventh heaven of bliss when I held in my hands the first Author’s copy of my book. The feelings and emotions are ineffable. They can only be experienced, not described!

There is this person, who wants to be incognito, coaxing me, cajoling me, urging me, and inspiring me to undertake writing novels in English. I silently salute this person.

Then, there is this publishing company, Partridge India, which offered me an inexpensive self-publishing platform and constant support through its team of consultants. I thank Partridge India for the unstinting, patient help they rendered throughout the publishing process.

I am waiting anxiously to see how successful my first book will be commercially.

Well, that is the long and short of my experiment with self-publishing!

Welcome to my BlogSpot, friends!

This Sunday morning, with couple of slices of bread toast and cups of coffee inside my tummy, I realised to my horror that I am unaware of the meaning, import, and dynamics of creation, posting, and maintenance of the ubiquitous ‘blog’.

All I know is that ‘blog’ is the abbreviation of ‘weblog’.

Well, it is never too late, they say!

Even for learning!

So, I begin my blog journey, pitching, rolling, lurching, and steadying.

Hope to be guided by you.

Be blogging you!
